The “Get Strapped” (GS) Bracket allows anglers to strap themselves into a harness while fishing with lighter reels without harness lugs.

Until now if you locked into a big fish on light tackle or while using a smaller reel, the fish had the advantage and you were forced to simply “hold on” and hope for the best. The GS Bracket gives the advantage back to the angler by allowing him/her to clip themselves into a proper angling harness and fight the fish.

The angler utilizes far less energy holding the rod in place and can focus on what’s most important – catching the fish.

"We found dorado on kelps with wahoo," said Polaris Supreme skipper Tom Rothery October 15, "between Mag Bay and Alijos Rocks, and good yellowtail fishing, as good as its been for several years, at Hipolito and San Pablo."

Chartermaster "Mercy" Tony Chargois of Pittsburg, CA and the Get Strapped Fishing Tackle company made a good case for his product, the GS Bracket, by winning first place in the jackpot, for a 100-pound yellowfin tuna.

"It's my best fish of the trip," said Mercy".. "Go light and win the fight. Get strapped in."

Tony said he fished a sardine on a 4/0 Mustad hook, a 40-pound wind-on Seaguar fluorocarbon topshot on 50-pound Spectra, with an Accurate 665H reel (he was hooked into his bracket and harness) and a Calstar 765XL rod. He said it took 20 minutes.

Ernie Cariaga of Long Beach was second, for a 58-pound tuna, and Greg Carlton of Martinez was third, for a 56-pound wahoo. Bryan Tomaneng of Moreno Valley took a 44-pound yellowtail, and posed with the winners.Hills Hills
